About Melissa

Currently based in Northamptonshire, Melissa is an expressive artist and works primarily in acrylics. She is deeply inspired by the beauty of the coast, sea and sky. After years of travelling and working as a private chef in Scotland and Cornwall, she decided to trade her culinary skills for a paintbrush.

“Painting for me is more than just trying to recreate a scene, it's about capturing the feeling of being there. I find standing in the middle of these wild landscapes calming, Even when the wind is howling, and the waves are crashing, I feel there’s a strange sense of peace.”

To find her inspiration, Melissa often visits the highlands and islands of Scotland and the coast of Cornwall during the quieter autumn and winter months. “It’s like the land, sea, and sky are all speaking their own language.”

Melissa regularly shows her work in exhibitions, events and has her work in private collections throughout the UK.
